He studied Japanese-style painting under Shimazaki Ryuu and Matsuoka Eikyu.
Ryuoh sent his works and participated actively in the Teiten Exhibitions. |

Description |
There are some faint spots and stains on the drawing part.
Although, the condition of this scroll is not bad.
The painting subject is well-known one.
Kusunoki Masashige (1294 - 1336), famous Samurai, was going to the Minatogawa
War by order of the Godaigo Emperor.
He knew he would lose the war and also his life.
At Sakurai post town, Masashige told his young son Masayuki to go to Kawachi
Province (Masashige's hometown).
Masayuki denied to go there and wanted to accompany with his father.
Masashige admonished his son that he should survive for revenge.
Then, the father and child parted tearfully.
The scene is painted elaborately and artistically. |
